Whether boxes,
cartons, padded bags, envelopes, bags, or other products: High
manufacturing speeds and quality can only be achieved when gluing, if
the glue is applied at the right location in the required quantities.
Whether for 1000 products per hour or 100,000 items.
Time and cost savings through greatly
reduced waste
Glue
or series faults cause production downtimes and reduce quality.
Therefore, RETEC has developed a unit which monitors the glue
application and triggers an alarm already at low deviations, before much
waste occurs.
Application monitoring through simple button
operation
The unit, which is
suitable for intermittent and continuous applications, can be easily
integrated into the production process. It monitors the position (glue
start/end) and quantity of the applied glue after it has been "set"
to this value by simply pressing a button, i.e. through so-called "dynamic
calibration" the unit automatically adopts the preset values. It is
also possible to define tolerance ranges. If the tolerance range is
exceeded during production, the unit immediately triggers an alarm,
which can also be sounded via external acoustic or visible alarm devices
or via RS232 interface at the monitor of the controlling computer, where
the production process can be continuously monitored.
Documentation of product quality
Products with faulty
glue application are being counted. Data are stored even during an
interruption of production. A report of fault-free and faulty products
can be produced on an optional printer, so that the product quality can
be documented. This supports the ISO 9000 certification of the
production process.
